The design of the South Eastern Integrated Transit Authority’s (SEITA) new 1000m2 workplace environment responds to visitors’ sensory needs and presents a highly visual and informative experience.  Woodhead’s design creates a striking, vibrant public interface and corporate office.

The public space incorporates interactive learning facilities and floor to ceiling maps of the Mitcham-Frankston freeway. The front of house display room houses hi-tech interactive audio visual equipment and presentations focused on the construction and progress of the freeway works.

The use of elementary blocks of colour, shape, texture and luminosity achieve an overall explanatory image reflecting the client’s purpose and identity.

The workplace planning is based on movement and curves, reminiscent of roads and freeways. The curvilinear walls, the ceiling texture and quality of finishes all combine to create the dynamics of this workplace environment.

The office accommodates 40 people and encourages increased staff communication and interaction by the inclusion of café spaces, open meeting areas and several quiet rooms.

The SEITA office project provided an opportunity for Woodhead to contribute to contemporary design ideas by incorporating a diverse range of functional areas in a professional, flexible, dynamic and inviting interior design.
