Fujitsu’s new Woodhead designed Melbourne headquarters is situated in the Green Star registered The Gauge, at Melbourne Dockland’s. This new fitout for Fujitsu is set to change the industry’s direction on sustainable office design within commercial developments.

The interior design and planning is designed to suit the architectural environmental features of the building. The sustainable solutions within the fit-out and the building have provided a noticeable difference to the air quality, producing a fresh, light environment which will contribute to the wellbeing of Fujitsu staff.

Floorplate planning locates staff at the perimeter of the spaces, where daylight and views are prominent. The carefully planned internal shared spaces complement the exposed structure of the building as well as the day-to-day working environment of its users.

Spatial planning has resulted in the necessary departmental affiliations; level four as typical office space, level five a conference floor and reception on level six.

The level six reception features Fujitsu’s infinity logo embossed into a curved timber wall, with interactive LCD screens used as a promotional tool upon entering the space. The digital media centre adjacent to reception, showcases the company’s new technologies in a darkened gallery space, complete with motion sensors to enhance the experience of what is on display. This dynamic corporate waiting area also features a striking bio-wall, a representation of Fujitsu’s environmental commitment.

External signage incorporates photo voltaic panels to be able to operate from its own solar power. Environmentally innovative furniture, colourful fabrics and striking finishes add impact and contrast with the clean lines of the fitout and the Docklands views beyond.
