Providing architecture, interior design and graphic design services for this project as part of an integrated design solution, Woodhead’s design of the Foxtel Customer Solutions Centre provides world’s best practice, creating a healthy and comfortable working environment for over 1,000 employees.
Flexible team spaces on the three upper floors create a sense of ‘place and space’, where the design, graphics and TV screens reinforce the core entertainment nature of Foxtel’s business.
The innovative architectural features of this commercial call centre building offer a modern and efficient workplace, including internal flexibility for future tenancies and environmentally sensitive services.
The building is orientated with its long axis to the east-west with a central atrium allowing for maximum natural light. The east and west façades remain largely clear to minimise solar gain. Services located at the ends of the central atrium are individually expressed to add interest to the façades.
The planning of the building is a very simple diagram, separating the main floorplate from the circulation and services. Circulation takes place at the edges with vertical circulation situated within the frames that enclose the central atrium.
A basement carpark provides a formal base to the composition, which rises to three office levels. The ground floorplate incorporates amenities such as training rooms and a cafeteria.
Woodhead’s Graphics team worked in close collaboration with the integrated fitout to provide a unique fit-out and environmental graphic design solution. Adapting the strong Foxtel brand for use as environmental graphics was key to this solution, with both the Foxtel light-beams and a multitude of images used throughout.
