The creative new headquarters which is home to Clemenger’s 54 employees includes highly interactive and flexible work settings, spaced across 900m² with further room for expansion. Previously located on the outskirts of the city, its move into a more central area is reflective of Clemenger’s design aesthetic and contemporary approach to their projects.
The open style format of the building begins at reception and flows directly into the work area, removing the divide between the two areas and allowing clients to ‘see’ Clemenger’s work environment. The new space was designed to reflect Clemenger’s desire for a work space where the aspects of, and paths to, the creative process were on show rather than locked away.
Creative zones are built throughout the space and one zone features a 4m long design bench with a roll of paper one end. Paper can be stretched out allowing for impromptu individual or group creative sessions can take place. The work can then be cut off and hung on the wall for further creative input.
An interactive clipboard also runs throughout the building, a rigging system of high tensile cables allowing designers to attach inspirational images, drawings and their design ideas to these cables where they are on display for all to take inspiration from.
The design embraces the dynamic and creative aspects of the Clemenger culture and focuses on fun and the need to adapt to the environment as the advertising agency’s projects and commissions demand.
