Woodhead has designed a modern interior for the relatively ‘young’ winery The Barossa Valley Estate. The simple design creates an image consistent with the winery’s status as a contemporary company while remaining sympathetic to the location in the heart of the Barossa Valley.

The interior design commission encompassed the administration building and the cellar door located on either side of a central plaza, creating a village style atmosphere.

A consistent palette of finishes and colours was used in both buildings to link them together.  The colours were selected to reflect the purples and greens of the vines outside the cellar.

Natural products are utilised in conjunction with more modern finishes, such as glass, stainless steel and polished concrete, to create a contemporary design for the facility.  Café tables are made of recycled jarrah from century old whiskey barrels. Both building feature a texture stone wall constructed with stone sourced from a nearby property.

The juxtaposition of material types allows the Barossa Valley Estate to create a work and commercial environment that is in harmony with its surroundings while also reinforces its brand identity – sophistication and premium quality.
