The two storey, Woodhead designed, facility takes a straightforward approach to ensure easy public access to the wide range of services available at the Banyule health centre. Services include; medical, dental, physiotherapy, podiatry, speech pathology, occupational therapy and counselling rooms.

The $11.5 million development is located on the former 1956 Melbourne Olympics Village site and replaces the previous 50 year old Administration Centre buildings.

The centre is divided into five main functional areas linked by two internal ‘streets’ and a lift. The internal streets provide primary access to the centre’s various services as well as access to natural light.

Environmentally Sustainable Design principles are incorporated, such as solar efficient building orientation, external shading for glazed areas, optimum thermal insulation and a centralised air conditioning plant.
