2-4 Lyon Park Road is the result of a limited design competition for the design of a 10,000m² commercial building. Woodhead was subsequently engaged to provide architectural design, documentation and construction services for this project.

The integration of new entry levels in the base form and generous landscaping provide a welcoming approach for visitors. The curved and blade façade forms synthesise with the adjacent new development to create a cohesive urban environment.

The orientation of the building to the north limits exposure to solar gain with predominately solid east and west facades. Low sun angles are alleviated by the building’s curved form in conjunction with ‘low e’ glass.

An efficient building envelope was developed by undertaking studies of the most efficient floor plate area to façade area and assessing the distances between core and façade. Dark vertical mullions are used to minimise visual obstructions and low level perimeter sill maximises the internal light.

Clean core walls and an assessment of the built form to provide a variety of modular design configurations created interior design flexibility.
