Our design includes the creation of a state-of-the-art, flexible and environmentally friendly hospital with a strong sense of presence and identity.
The 160 bed hospital provides specialist womens and neo-natal paediatric health services. It integrates with the infrastructure and support services of the adjoining Royal Melbourne Hospital.
The hospitals design focus addresses the needs of women from varying backgrounds and cultures, including Asian, Muslim and Koori women, and has the flexibility to meet future needs through provision for expansion.
Contemporary, innovative and sustainable, the in-patient wards features 100% fresh air throughout using an energy efficient displacement airconditioning system.
