Signage - wayfinding system

National and International

VIVOCITY - Wayfinding review
We were commissioned to review the signage and wayfinding of the newly developed VivoCity shopping centre located on Singapore's harbourfront. The current system was not an effective wayfinding solution fit for the enormous environment of some 100,000m2.

SMITHFIELD - Wayfinding System
Smithfield is a 30,000m2 regional shopping centre located in northern Cairns.
Apart from addressing the new aesthetics of the centre with the design and implementation of selective environmental graphics, the revised signage and wayfinding solution also sought to rationalise pedestrian traffic flows throughout, and facilitate increased exposure to the smaller tenants as well as improving the customers overall experience.

CHARLES STURT INDUSTRIAL ESTATE - Wayfinding System
Graphics developed a name in consultation with the client that drew from the sites historic associations, consisting of both tall ship sails (depicting explorer Captain Charles Sturt) and the triangular iconic saw-tooth roofline of traditional factories. Once the identity, was established, Woodhead Graphics then developed a highly visible signage and wayfinding system. The corporate identity was applied to marketing material that was used to present CSIE as a revitalised and attractive corporate location.

SIAM COMMERCIAL BANK - Wayfinding System
As one of the top three major commercial banks in Thailand, with a unique heritage linked to the Thai Royal Family, the branding project comprised redesign of the bank's logo and adaptation onto a complex signage program. The sign types consisted of fascia signs, pylon road signs, high level roof top signs and ATM branding. The Royal colours of purple and yellow were retained to aid in the impact of the bank's brand and to strengthen streetside appeal of their 400+ network of branches.

PARKLANDS ESTATE - Wayfinding System
Located in New South Wales amongst numerous light industrial estates, Parklands demanded a vibrant eye-catching solution to be noticed. The end result was a memorable identity and wayfinding solution that both consisted of a vibrant green. This created a distinctive visual wayfinding path from the roadside entry statement and throughout the estate.

WESTRAIL CENTRE - Wayfinding System
The rail and bus terminal required stronger branding as part of their refurbishment program. Whilst Woodhead's interior design team upgraded the old interiors, the graphic design team set about designing a logo to brand the centre and new signage. Sign types included freestanding, identification entrance pylon signs, entry door signage, internal directional signs, directory board, platform directional and identification signs, regulation signs and identification signs for Greyhound Buses and other service facilities within the Centre.

CONRAD HOTEL - Wayfinding System
This international hotel chain required signage for its brand new facility in Bangkok. In keeping with the sophisticated and understated nature of the interior design scheme, the signage utilises timber and metal to convey directional and identification information throughout the hotel.

SKYRAIL CENTRE - Wayfinding System
The Skyrail centre required signage to assist visitors with directions throughout the facility. In keeping with the tropical nature of Cairns, the signage reflects themes of nature in bright and vibrant colours which help build visual interest and a touch of entertainment within the centre.

MURDOCH UNIVERSITY - Wayfinding System
A comprehensive audit and review of the University's wayfinding system was initiated, including development of a new design scheme aimed specifically at utilising the signage throughout the University as an integral part of branding the University. The scope of work included auditing signage information and content, consolidation of sign locations, conceptual design, specification of materials, documentation, tendering and consultation with the signage contractor during fabrication.
