Batemans Bay Mariner
Batemans Bay, New South Wales
This marina will support increasing local demand, as well as encourage holiday, trade and waterbased tourism to this coastal site and surrounding areas. The design is focused strongly on creating a 'Sense of Place, a development that is clearly seen as 'Batemans Bay' and centred around creating appropriate relationships between land and water, private and public space,m commerce and recreation.
The public foreshore path along the Rotary Park Northern boundary / seawall is proposed as a publicly accessible link to a re-activated waterfront, with public amenity and open space at the waters edge. Boardwalks, footpaths, cycle paths and new axial roadways direct movement into the precinct, activating not only the new built form but also breathing life into the existing public domain and creating a distinct sense of place.
