The Ramada Plaza Pier Hotel is a 216 room apartment hotel on the beachfront at Glenelg. Designed as a five-star luxurious property, the A$60 million hotel was recently completed. Its seven levels include one, two and three bedroom apartments plus executive suites.

The ground floor of the hotel accommodates bars and restaurants, function rooms and a gaming area. Along with resort style facilities, including a stylish indoor pool, sauna, steam room and gymnasium, there is undercover parking for more than 300 cars.

The hotel has a particular focus on outdoor hospitality with views over Holdfast Bay and a pedestrian footbridge linking the building with its surrounds and the nearby marina precinct.

The Pier Hotel forms part of an extensive beachfront development comprising a mix of residential, retail, hotel, restaurant and marina elements.

The final stage of the Holdfast Shores development is currently being planned and will comprise entertainment, retail and accommodation facilities, plus public plazas and car parking. The total project is the largest development underway in South Australia and is scheduled for completion in 2005.
