The Qingdao Hotel is a 5 star 220 room boutique hotel recently won by the Woodhead International, Shanghai office.
The hotel concept was designed around asymmetrical and symmetrical planning techniques. Winning the competition is testimony to Woodhead's design vision.
The project is set back on one of the most unique sites in China for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games sailing events. The coastal location of Qingdao is the site for the Olympic Sailing events in Beijing.
Surrounded by water and lush gardens the Qingdao Hotel has all the facilities one needs for a 5 Star guest experience. Facilities such as a luxury spa, retail, ball room, a variety of restaurants and most uniquely landscape roof gardens for Alfresco dining.
The grand entry to this unique development is hidden from the main street with a court yard concept enclosure. The courtyard wall has been designed to reflect contemporary Asian motifs.
The project embraces vertical and horizontal connections by introducing 4 storey high courtyards, reflection pools and manicured landscapes. The exterior of the hotel is clad with an asymmetrical glazed frame and during the evening features a spectacular glowing light design.
