As part of the strategic expansion of the Kalyra Heights Retirement Village at Belair, Woodhead established a 39-bed facility at McLaren Vale for the James Brown Memorial Trust.

Completed in 1999, the complex provides 26 residential rooms with a special unit of 13 rooms designed to meet the special needs of clients with dementia. Ease of wayfinding within the facility and the transparency and safety offered by the central courtyard are particularly important for those residents suffering from dementia.

An integral feature of the local community, the facility also enables residents to maintain a degree of independent living whilst continuing participation in local activities.

Overall, the design of Kalyra Vale enables delivery of the highest standards of aged care to a local community, enhancing the quality of life for its residents.
