High Technology Court

Supreme Court, South Australia

A fair trial is dependent upon an environment that fully supports the judicial procedure, minimises external influences, and allows those participating to be as effective as possible. The refurbishment of Court 3 was needed to accommodate all participants and the required technology, allowing the judicial process to continue smoothly.

Existing bar tables, media benches, jury box, control booth and sheriffs box were demolished. New facilities were provided for the sheriff, prosecution, multiple defence legal teams and a larger jury of 15. Maximum facilities were retained for the media and the public.

New ergonomic accommodation was designed and constructed to enable technology to be provided to all facilities in a discreet, flexible and removable manner. Room acoustics and disability access were improved with a solution that exceeded expectations.
