Delhi International Airport

New Delhi, India

Woodhead has been appointed as architect, interior designers and retail planners for the new US $700m airport in Delhi, India. Working in association with Larsen and Toubro Limited and Meinhardt Engineering, the project will be designed and constructed in time for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

The new airport features 40 gates, check-in facilities and the ability to be operated in a swingate mode as either domestic or international. The architecture features an expressive room, forming a unique world celebrating New Delhi's geographic location at the foothills of the Himalayas. The design is focused on passenger comfort and experience.
