Hotel Soul is located in the centre of Suzhou, an ancient water town possessing some of the most famous gardens in China. Suzhou is also known as a place of high literary culture with many influentual writers and poets originating from the city.

The 180 room, seven storey hotel is located in the centre of Suzhou. In the design of the renovations to the Hotel Soul, Woodheads designers sought to capture some of Suzhous cultural distinctiveness, re-interpret the forms, adopt patterns in the contemporary ways and apply these concepts to the architecture and interiors for the building.

Overlaid on this cultural base, the design is a funky and indulgent sensibility that adds a high quality boutique and whimsical element to the schemes for the public spaces and guest rooms.
