The State-Wide Operations Centre
Western Australia
The State-Wide Operations Centre is a technologically advanced fitout of 1000sqm created to consolidate various sectors of the Water Corporation.
The central heart of this facility is the 24/7 concentric Control Room, with operators working a 12 hour shift. The layout was generated from the functional requirement to collocate different parts of the business, and to promote communication whilst maintaining the departments ability to focus on a specific area.
A Call Centre for enquiries is located to the right of the operators, and a support network and Operations facility to the left, where staff work more conventional hours.
Ecologically sustainable design is a high priority, with the client demonstrating its commitment to all elements of their business, including accommodation.
Innovations and methods of design include a flexible work area, eco friendly materials throughout, and a workstation system pioneering sustainable concepts through minimal use of materials and finishing methods currently regarded as the worlds most environmentally friendly option.
The colour scheme reflects the departments highly professional nature, and is consistent throughout while providing separate areas with their own identity. Amenities are located on the periphery, allowing the main staff areas maximum access to natural light. Storage and layout space are combined, with sustainable individual units fixed together to form lengthy layout areas.
