Paper recycling has reached such high levels in Australia that fibre quality has diminished. Visy are importing kraft paper for packaging manufacture to maintain quality. This mill will provide a local replacement for the imported fibre.

Woodhead provided architectural design services for the $400m project in conjunction with Visy's internal project team.

The mill employs current technology to reduce environmental impacts to a minimum.

Process water is used to grow crops on the site, eliminating any off-site drainage. Modern scrubbing technologies have reduced air pollution levels substantially.

Woodhead provided low cost, low maintenance and attractive designs to meet Visy's technical and future expansion requirements.
