Accor Hospitality India has appointed Woodhead as Interior Design Consultant for its latest hotel project in Mumbai – Novotel Andheri.
The project will be led by Meriem Hall, Hospitality Design Leader, Asia. “The Novotel Andheri Hotel appointment is an exciting testimony for Woodhead Hospitality’s growing reputation in the hotel interior design market,” said Meriem Hall. In just two years, since our first Hospitality Interior Design Consultancy project in India for Novotel Hotel Varun Beach, Vizag, we have always focused on delivering design excellence that goes beyond the client’s expectations, all whilst juggling multiple interests of the property owner, hotel operator, project manager and project consultant team to align them towards our original design vision.”
Perhaps better known for its Architectural projects in Australia, Meriem’s striking
designs for luxury hotel interiors is changing the image of the firm. The in-roads she has personally spearheaded in the India market have been noticed by other developers and hotel operators across Asia and beyond. With Accor, Meriem’s design-led client-management process has led to the deepening partnership with them as a key account. Earlier this year, Woodhead was appointed for Accor’s Pullman Hotel in Delhi, now in Construction Documentation stage. Woodhead is in discussions with Accor and their key clients on other high-end future developments for Interior Design.
Meriem has just returned from Mumbai to inspect the site, feel the city and attend kick off meetings with the client and consultant team. “The scale of the property will be an interesting challenge,” Meriem said of the project. “Usually, Accor would have adjacent Novotel and Ibis Hotels sharing some common facilities. In this case, almost 500 rooms will stand alone and be supported by proportionately-scaled F&B, business and leisure facilities.”
The 497-key International 4-Star business hotel with F&B and leisure facilities will be designed to surpass Novotel’s contemporary image and innovative design standards, with adaptions and improvements infused with Mumbai’s vibrant spirit.
