Woodhead is proud to have been part of the winning entrant into this years design competition ‘The Project’ as part of Saturday In Design.

Collaborating with InterfaceFLOR, Woodhead was approached to design and display a mannequin in the Zambesi store on Flinders Lane in Melbourne using only products from InterfaceFLOR’s range of carpet tiles.

In deconstructing the tiles and then reconstructing the tiles, the Woodhead display represents the yarn we use to create the fabric of our lives. The thought process behind our design was that people are individual, with different ideas, thoughts, tastes, inspirations, motivations, awareness, spirituality and being that goes together to form and shape the person they become.

The Woodhead mannequin was part of a collection that turned the Zambesi store into a gallery like environment, with 10 leading designers from a range of different creative disciplines also showcasing their interpretations of the concept.

The final decision was judged over the weekend and announced at an event attended by VIP’s from across the design industry who had travelled to Melbourne to be part of the event.

Woodhead also collaborated with Zenith and Bolon on recreating their showroom, also on Flinders Lane, for the event. The design of both showrooms was undertaken by members of the Melbourne team, including Emma Foster, Rebecca Dawes, Melanie Wong, Sophie Champion and Ruth Redden.

Woodhead is delighted to have been invited to take part in this years event, which was attended by staff from all offices in both Australia and Singapore.
