The Woodhead designed workplace for Shell has been awarded joint winners of the Best Building Fit-Out category at the 2010 Master Builders of WA Excellence in Construction Awards, sponsored by BankWest.

The Shell Workplace occupies 75% of the Woodhead designed 2 Victoria Avenue building, which has already won a number of awards ranging from architectural excellence to leadership in sustainability and property development.

The awards Jury commented “Shell is a unique Interior fit-out that includes a number of highly specified finishes that demanded attendtion to detail for each individual aspect. These include the various wall finishes, feature timber beneer panelling and many meeting/ video conferencing rooms, stylish and functional breakout areas on each of the three floors that display modern furnishings, eco friendly floor finishes and quality white goods”.

The highly successful fitout program was achieved in under 15 weeks, with Woodhead working alongside the Northerly Group (Builder) and Norman Disney Young (Project Engineers).

Since 1989, the Excellence in Construction Awards have been recognised by the industry, industry professions and government as the hallmark annual event for the commercial, industrial and civil engineering sectors. The event attracts strong interest from contractors and receives widespread media coverage.

Entries are received in designated categories and are judged by an independent panel comprising representatives of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects, Engineers Australia and Master Builders Association.

Woodhead is thrilled to add the 2010 Master Builders of WA Excellence in Construction Award for Best Building Fit-Out to it’s already impressive list of accolades for both the Shell Fit-out and the base building, 2 Victoria Avenue Perth.
