The Adelaide studio has won the award for Best Revit Render for their work on the Adelaide Desalination Plant.
The Revit User Group of South Australia (RUGSA) consists of revit users from different companies and disciplines in South Australia that meet regularly to discuss and share knowledge around the use of this BIMs software. Woodhead’s Wojciech Misiara is a key founding member and part of the steering committee
Recently RUGSA held their ‘Render of the Year’ competition, which Woodhead won with the visualisation put together by Ben Mountford for the Desalination Plant Visitors Centre. There was stiff competition from other architects and engineers showing renders of buildings as well as infrastructure projects. The voting was done anonymously by all members of the user group.
The visualisation is noteworthy for its engaging use of texture, reflection and light. It also clearly shows the expression of the architectural intent – the layers of strata in the rammed earth walls that reference the local cliffs, and the floating reflective ceiling giving views of the ocean and activity beyond.
It is currently under construction with the large rammed earth walls almost complete.
